Queen of the Night – A Tribute to Whitney Houston

at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre
Queen Of The Night – A Tribute to Whitney Houston returns in 2026 for another show-stopping celebration, following sold-out tours across the UK, including an arena tour and iconic venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and The London Palladium. Established as the UK’s biggest Whitney Houston tribute, this breathtaking production honours the music, legacy, and unmatched talent of the legendary Whitney Houston. Celebrate Whitney’s remarkable musical repertoire in an electrifying production that honours her timeless songs with sensational vocalists.
Whitney Houston is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with sales of more than 220 million records worldwide. Her first two albums, along with The Bodyguard soundtrack, rank among the best-selling albums of all time and made her the first black artist to score three RIAA diamond-certified albums. She was born on August 9th 1963, she became a cultural icon, breaking down gender and racial barriers through her artistic achievements and music videos. Known for her vocal delivery, gospel singing style, crossover appeal, and live performances, Houston was ranked second on Rolling Stone’s list of the greatest singers of all time in 2023. Her hits “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)” and “I Will Always Love You” are among the best selling singles ever; the latter remains the best-selling single by a woman and has been certified diamond by RIAA. She has been inducted into multiple halls and walks of fame, including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Rhythm& Blues Hall of Fame, and the Grammy Hall of Fame (twice!).
With so many beloved hits to choose from, I would have been hard to decide which ones to leave out for tonight’s amazing tribute, but the audience was captivated by an array of hits from across 3 decades of Whitney’s work. Numbers for the night included I Wanna Dance With Somebody, One Moment In Time, I’m Every Woman, I Will Always Love You, My Love Is Your Love, So Emotional, Run To You, Saving All My Love, How Will I Know, Million Dollar Bill, The Greatest Love Of All, and many more. A selection which had everyone singing, dancing and cheering along.
The star of the night was the extraordinary Adeniké Adewale as Lead Whitney. Adeniké is a singer-songwriter from London and before she joined Queen of the Night she was a contestant on The Voice UK 2020 under the mentorship of coach and musician WILL.I.AM, where she wowed the coaches with a rendition of ‘Get Here’ by Oleta Adams. She successfully reached the semi-finals of the show.
On the night, Adeniké’s vocals were nothing less than exceptional; her range, control, tone and dynamics mirroring flawlessly the sound of this iconic diva, and she made it look and sound so easy! A huge, extremely well-studying talent who was a sight to behold.
She was backed by the wonderful featured singer Holly Bannis and the sensational Anna Richmond and Bethany Carter as backing singer/ dancers, who all performed with passion, energy and joy. Add to this the sensational costumes and the outstanding five piece band and we have the recipe for an unmissable evening filled with live music, captivating choreography, and powerful vocals.
