EDINBURGH FRINGE: Janie Dee’s Beautiful World Cabaret

Janie Dee excels at everything she does.

Whether she's starring in London's West End or at the National Theatre, Broadway or the Hollywood Bowl, this multi-award-winning actress and singer's talent and passion for her craft has earned her a place among theatre royalty. Alan Ayckbourn wrote a play for her, Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote a song for her and Hugh Jackman knelt at her feet in homage to a part he saw her play.

Now she is bringing her extraordinary talents to the Fringe, with a cabaret in which she not only stars but has also produced and directed.

For Dee, however, the star of the show is our 'beautiful world', another passion which she is committed to help save, and she celebrates it with a small but stellar company of musicians, singers and dancers, as well as unusual and inspiring guests, who will have you laughing one minute and crying the next. It's lots of fun but it also goes as deep as you want it to. Created by Dee's flair and passion, it's simply…beautiful.

Janie Dee's Beautiful World Cabaret is at the Queen Dome (venue 23), Bristo Square daily at 2.20pm until August 26. Tickets on www.edfringe.com, from the Pleasance Dome 10am-11.30pm, or on 0131 556 6550.
