Flop! – The best songs from the worst musicals

Flop! -The best songs from the worst musicals. Written and performed by Arthur Hull
Hailing from the land down under Arthur Hull first toured this show around Australia where it won best emerging artist at the Adalaide fringe in 2025 before coming over to Edinburgh later the same year and winning the ‘Best entertainment’ at the dark chat awards. With such an impressive pedigree I was expecting good things and Flop did not disappoint. It does exactly what it says on the tin: Hull as our compare guides us through a treasure trove of musical gems from shows that have (Possibly for good reasons) been consigned to the vaults such: Moby dick, ‘Diana the musical’, Spiderman, king kong and many more besides.
Maybe because this was his London debut and he was returning to the stage after a few months’ absence I thought he seemed a bit nervous at the outset but once he got going, he was an unstoppable force: A witty and engaging host with an encyclopedic knowledge of musical theatre and a talented singer to boot.
At just under an hour long this is a joyful little amuse bouche of a show, well written, well researched, and also a great way for Mr. Hull to showcase his not inconsiderable musical theater chops. If ‘Flop’ doesn’t do well then I at least hope there’s casting director in the crowd who’s paying attention
