EDINBURGH FRINGE: Tiny Planet at the Pleasance Dome (King Dome) (1 hr)****
I well remember falling in love with an acorn when Half a String brought their puppet show, Breathe, to the Fringe two years ago.
Now they are back with another star in the shape of Alma, an intergalactic space baker who, on his way to deliver a wedding cake, crashes on a dried out tiny planet. Marooned until help arrives, he sees the planet come to life in a mesmerising show which combines folk music, live filming and Peter Morton’s extraordinarily intricate creations.
Though it is pitched at five-year-olds upwards, I did find the storyline a bit hard to follow, but who am I to comment when it is a Fringe Award winner with nine nominations, and little ones came out of their seats and sat on the steps in wonder to get a closer look.
