Hot mess - a three day bender of cabaret, CLF arts cafe peckham (powtheatre.co.uk)
It sounded so promising, a theatre company called ‘pint of wine’ offering a three day bender of cabaret’ featuring music, drag, improv and stand up comedy.  With another season of Ru Paul’s drag race gone and Edinburgh festival still a few months away surely this is exactly what the doctor ordered.

Pint of wine describe themselves as a theatre company who seek to ‘push boundaries, disrupt, challenge and engage an audience’.
Perhaps my expectations were too high, but tonight they did none of those things, instead Paulus our charmingly camp compare for the evening, lead us through a drama school style Show case of entirely competent performers, all of whom hit the high notes, remembered their lines, and occasionally made me smile, but none of whom rocked my world. If (like the two gentlemen sitting next to me) you were casting for your next show this would be fertile ground, but it’s not one to go to as a punter, and since this was the middle night of a 3 night run to be honest I was left a bit mystified as to why they wanted someone to review it the first place.
